I am a mother of a 4 year old darling girl, who just recently started daycare. Up until then, I have been very lucky to stay at home with her. During our four years together at home, my daughter has taught me a great deal about myself as well as child care.
She has taught me the importance of breastfeeding, tummy time, non-allergenic foods & detergents/body washes, cognitive development exercises, motor skills development exercises, pureed foods to solids, teething, socialization, playdates, consistency, the importance of remaining calm and collected during power struggles, the importance of being firm in a loving way, gentle discipline, positive reinforcement, positive praise, positive encouragement, choices, routine & structure, structured activities, being prepared, sleep in pre-schoolers, and the importance of autonomy. These are the many endearing importances in which I have practiced and have been practicing as a mother thus far for my child.
In all honesty, staying at home with my child wasn't something my partner and I had planned in the beginning, but since having done so, I am very grateful for the opportunity to have experienced the on going process of child care. It has expanded my appreciation for child care workers and parents alike, abundantly. I am most certain that I am not the first mother to have thanked their own parents, during those first few months of having a newborn and again every other year after that :-) for their dedication and hard work, because it isn't easy being a parent, thank goodness it is tremendously rewarding.
Since having had the pleasurable opportunity of staying at home with my child, I know that this is something I would in fact enjoy doing again. I am offering my services as a babysitter or be it nanny because I have a good grasp of what it takes to raise a child in a positive environment and feel confident about it.
Now that my child is older, as well as being a single child, she needs to interact with other children on a daily basis and explore other controlled environments, learning how to behave in a group setting. Daycare is a great medium for children to work with their teachers and learn how to behave in a classroom setting with other children before being sent off to kindergarten, where the teacher to child ratio is much larger. Having said that, I feel that my approach to child care has given my daughter a good foundation to prepare her for the next step, which for her was daycare. So far, I am really happy with our results and am thankful that I have always put my best foot forward concerning the rearing of my child :-) I hope that you will too.
My husband who takes pleasure in culinary delights, is a self-taught Chef who has been working in the Industry for the past twenty years. He started his career in Vancouver, British Columbia. Six years later moved back to his Native, Montreal. He works from 6 am to 3 pm every week day. More importantly, it is his hard work and dedication to what he does, that has allowed me to stay at home with our child, for which I am very greatful. Four years later, our bundle of joy is in the safe hands of her daycare, and I am available for employment and would love the opportunity to give a helping hand with your child/children.
I like just about everything, I am a very down to earth, easy going individual. I absolutely love the outdoors, so any activity that has to do with outdoors, I am a big fan of. As far as hobbies go, I love to paint and do arts and crafts which go over well with my kid, since she loves to do that as well. Cooking and baking woud be a close second, love cooking and baking.
Throughout my work experience in the service industry as well as being a mother, I achieved discipline and a good work ethic. I know myself as being a methodical, patient and pleasant individual who can deal with all types of situations and people. I am quick, efficient and can handle myself calmly and effectively in a stressful situation. Most of all, I enjoy being with children and working with them in a creative, fun and positive environment.
