Hi there.
As you probably read, my name is Cydney.
I’ve had my Redcross Babysitting and First Aid certification since I was just 12 years old, and since then have worked with many children of all ages. I have always adored kids, and I love being able to guide them to learning and accomplishment through caregiving. Nothing beats seeing a kid beaming up at you because they finally finished a math problem that was giving them trouble, or they figured out a really tough puzzle.
While I will admit I have never been a full-time nanny, everyone has to start somewhere. As I’ve said, I have babysat, done overnight stays, and even after-school tutoring with children aged 0-12. I also have many young cousins of whom I tend to spend my time with over family dinners and holiday events.
When taking care of children, I like to make up new games, go out for walks or to the park (bundled up tight, in this weather), do arts & crafts and other creative outlets, and some light cooking/baking (always healthy, of course. I emphasize nutrition during these activities).
I believe children learn more from what we do than what we say, which is why I believe in always dressing appropriately, using manners with and around the children, and having a mutual respect with the children. They are young people who will one day be the future leaders of our society, and it is never too early to teach them to socialize respectfully.
So here’s a few things about me:
-Experience in babysitting, tutoring and pet care
-I am able to drive (though do not have my own car)
-I am located very centrally
-I put value on punctuality and schedule for both kids and myself
-I take pride in my appearance, attitude and demeanour
-I am ready and willing to go above and beyond for you and your child(ren)
-I am full of energy with a drive for success and accomplishment
-I am not currently studying, but am taking time to reflect on what I truly want to do before college.
Schedule/Availability:
-I am available all day, every day during the week. I am very flexible, but would like a set schedule.
-Preferably this would be full-time during the week, with few weekends. To be frank, I have worked all weekend, every weekend for 3 years, and would really like that back for the most part.
-Please do not hesitate to message me if you have only a few days during the week that you would need me.
