About Me
I am currently working on my Bachelor of Arts (Honours) at Queen's University, studying political science and history! I am in my third year now and loving it.
As a child, I was a dedicated Girl Guide, camping frequently with friends and family and earning as many badges as I could. My mom, dad and brother were definitely my best friends growing up, and my family instilled a sense of wonder about the world within me. Of course, being the older sibling I learned early on to be responsible, picking up multiple babysitting jobs as I grew older.
I went on to work at our local summer camp for two years in a row, with experience in integration and special needs. The times I had with these children will be something I will always cherish, and I wish I could have spent much more time with each child, getting to know them, and tailoring our days towards their wants and needs.
After high school, I was also lucky enough to study abroad in England at the Bader International Study Centre where I was able to volunteer locally and serve the community. Now I am back at Queen's in Kingston, and missing my days spent with children more than ever. My Netflix history is all children's movies, too!
I love to play, to teach, and most importantly, I love to learn. I think kids need to be listened to and respected above all else, because they always have something interesting, (and usually funny) to say. In my spare time I love to bake, cook, play music, and discover the world!
So, that's me in a nutshell! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions :)
